Postgraduate Diploma in Chassis-Engine Integration and Steering Geometries
Online Postgraduate Diploma of 800 hours in Chassis-Engine Integration and Steering Geometries. 8 modules covering Regulation (EU) 168/2013 on the type-approval of L-category vehicles, ISO 6725 dimensions of mopeds and two-wheeled motorcycles, and BikeSim. Assigned tutor and open enrolment.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Calculate steering geometry parameters and their effect.
Evaluate the stiffness of the chassis and swingarm.
Design the structural integration of the engine into the chassis.
Calculate anti-squat and its effect on traction.
Integrate the suspension with the overall geometry.
Analyse stability modes such as wobble and weave.
Simulate the motorcycle using multibody models.

How you'll learn
100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetable: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine the programme with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is BikeSim, VI-BikeRealTime, MSC Adams, Ansys Mechanical, CATIA V5, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real procedures for chassis stiffness testing, multibody stability simulation and on-track geometry adjustment. Assessment is continuous per module plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Calculate steering geometry parameters and their effect.
Evaluate the stiffness of the chassis and swingarm.
Design the structural integration of the engine into the chassis.
Calculate anti-squat and its effect on traction.
Integrate the suspension with the overall geometry.

Frequently asked questions
The programme totals 800 hours spread over 6 to 8 months. That is an average of 10 to 15 hours per week, compatible with a full-time job.
Work is carried out with BikeSim, VI-BikeRealTime, MSC Adams, Ansys Mechanical, CATIA V5. Free, academic or evaluation versions are used, and the tutor indicates the free alternative where one exists.
A SEIUM Institute own diploma upon passing the continuous assessment and the integrating project. It is in-house training, not an official qualification from the Ministry.
Yes. Modules passed in a Course or Postgraduate Diploma in the same area count towards the higher-level programme. Check the recognition policy when you enrol.
