Equivalencies and Credit Transfers
- Engineering degrees, international qualifications
SEIUM
In a global academic environment, where student and professional mobility is increasing, SEIUM has designed a transparent, rigorous, and agile system of equivalencies and validations. Our goal is to recognize the value of prior learning—whether at universities, technology centers, or through accredited professional experience—so that each student can optimize their academic journey and advance toward their goals with the greatest solidity and efficiency.

Evaluation of international qualifications
SEIUM follows the criteria of ENIC-NARIC (European Network of Information Centers / National Academic Recognition Information Centers) for the recognition of foreign qualifications.
- Degrees from accredited universities in Europe, America, Asia, Africa, and Oceania are accepted, provided they are accompanied by:
- Official diploma.
- Academic certificate with grades and credits.
- Sworn translation into English or Spanish (if applicable).
Evaluation of international qualifications

Engineering and technical degrees: SEIUM evaluates the content covered in civil, mechanical, naval, aerospace, electrical, computer, biomedical, and other related engineering programs.

Partial validation: subjects or modules passed at other universities may be recognized as equivalent credits, provided they meet quality criteria, workload, and learning outcomes.

Qualified engineers: those who already hold a professional degree will be able to access fast-track routes in master's and diploma programs, avoiding the repetition of subjects they have already mastered.
Professional experience and accreditation by competencies
Validation procedure
Initial application at the time of admission.
Submission of documentation (diplomas, certificates, course syllabi, project portfolio, professional references).
Academic evaluation by the SEIUM Equivalency and Validation Committee, which includes education experts and representatives from the Industry Advisory Board.
Official resolution detailing recognized credits and possible leveling modules.
Incorporation of the student with their personalized itinerary.
Average processing time: 4 to 6 weeks from the complete delivery of documentation.
Benefits of this system
- Academic efficiency: reduction of duplicate workload and optimization of study time.
- International recognition: degrees and credits aligned with European frameworks (ECTS) and global standards.
- Flexibility: itineraries tailored to each student's profile.
- Prestige and transparency: auditable process based on objective criteria.
- Access to advanced programs: eligibility for executive master's degrees, specialized diploma courses, or research pathways, based on previous experience.
