Application rounds and what each one means
For candidates who have firmly chosen SEIUM. Benefits: priority interview scheduling, a faster decision, and preference in lab/modality allocation. Requires a deposit within 10 days if admitted.
Round for maximum scholarship eligibility (merit, diversity, financial need, partner scholarships). You compete within the largest applicant pool, but more funding is available.
The most competitive round. If you require a visa, apply with sufficient lead time.
Open only if places remain and visa timelines allow. Recommended only for EU/EEA/UK candidates, or non-EU candidates whose visa process is already underway.
Continuous evaluation while places/funds remain. This applies especially to Diplomas and Executive programmes.
Visa and residence: plan backwards
- Apply 12–16 weeks before the start date to allow time for admission and consular documentation (official letter, proof of funds, insurance, accommodation, criminal record checks if required).
- SEIUM issues the visa support package after the seat-reservation deposit.
Avoid the Final/Late round if your country has long consular processing times.
- In general, no student visa is required; arrange registration/permits if your specific case requires it.
- For part-time work (if permitted), check local regulations.

Scholarships and financial support: rounds and deadlines
- Merit and Diversity Scholarships (Round 1): apply alongside your ED/R1 application.
- Financial need support: attach supporting documents; we decide within 2–3 weeks after admission.
- Partner/Company: if you are applying with sponsorship, the sponsorship form speeds up the decision.
- Compatibility: some scholarships cannot be combined; we prioritise the highest net support for the student.
