Fees & financing
- Pricing philosophy: transparency and stability
SEIUM
SEIUM was founded on a very clear principle: top-level education should be demanding, but never opaque. At many technical universities, students face “hidden costs” that appear halfway through the course (laboratories, licenses, expeditions). At SEIUM, we avoid this by publishing a real breakdown of all costs from the outset, so that:
- If you are a student, you can plan your resources 12–24 months in advance.
- If you are a sponsoring company, you can forecast your annual budgets.
- If you are a scholarship recipient, you can calculate your residual financial effort.
In addition, we implement a price lock policy: what you pay upon admission does not change even if the fees for future cohorts increase. This provides financial security for you and your family.

What do the fees include and what do they not include?
Unlike other institutions, at SEIUM we clearly break down:
Accommodation, meals, and transportation.
Visa and immigration procedures.
Specialized personal equipment: for example, helmet or fire-resistant clothing for testing, or a laptop with minimum specifications for simulation.
Costs for international expeditions or external internships, which may be optional and are clearly identified as “extras.”
This distinction allows students to fully understand what they are paying SEIUM for and what constitutes personal/logistical expenses.
Cost structure and examples
Advanced engineering programs tend to be more lab-intensive than other traditional master’s degrees. That’s why we’ve added the Tech/Lab Fees category: this covers everything from test bench maintenance to consumables (resins, fibers, sensors) and access to specialized facilities.
Example: Master’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering:

Base tuition
20.000 €

Tech/Lab Fees (wind tunnel use + HIL simulation bench)
2.500 €

Academic Services (bAcademic Services (digital libraries, LMS, proctoring): ibliotecas digitales, LMS, proctoring):
800 €

Insurance/HSE
120 €

Total
23.420 €

This breakdown clearly shows which part of the cost finances classes and which part finances technical infrastructure.
Payment methods explained (updated)
At SEIUM, we offer three payment models tailored to different profiles. All are designed to be transparent and clear from the outset:
Single payment (cash)
100% of the programme fee is paid at the start.
Benefit: a direct 15% discount on the total tuition fee.
Ideal for students with available liquidity, full scholarship holders, or companies sponsoring training and looking to optimise costs.
Example: a master’s programme costing €20,000 → final price €17,000.
Payment in 4 installments
40% upfront upon formalising enrolment.
The remaining 60% is split into 3 equal quarterly payments.
Administrative fee: 5% of the total programme value, added to the final cost.
Benefit: makes access easier without needing external loans.
Example: a €20,000 programme → total cost €21,000 after the fee.
1st payment: €8,400 (40% of €21,000).
2nd, 3rd, and 4th payments: €4,200 each.
Monthly payments (6–12 installments)
Payment is spread across fixed monthly instalments.
A much higher finance fee applies, between 12% and 15% depending on the duration.
Designed for those who cannot make large one-off payments, although it results in a higher final cost.
Example: a €20,000 master’s programme → final cost with a 15% fee = €23,000.
If paid over 12 months → instalments of approx. €1,917/month.
If paid over 6 months → instalments of approx. €3,833/month.
Sponsoring companies
SEIUM programs are often sponsored by companies that wish to train their talent. In such cases:
- The company may cover 100% or only a portion.
- We issue invoices directly to the company under its business name.
- We prepare quarterly progress reports to justify sponsorship.
- We even offer Learning Credit Accounts: a kind of annual corporate wallet for training.
This professionalizes the university-industry relationship and builds trust in HR.
Loans and external aid
We do not grant direct loans (as we are not a bank), but we provide all the documents that banks require:
- Official letter of admission.
- Detailed breakdown of costs.
- Certificates of enrollment and progress.
Example: a student from Peru can apply for an educational loan from COFIDE; in Spain, an ICO loan for postgraduate studies; in Mexico, FIDERH programs. All require proof of admission and costs, and we provide those documents in less than 5 business days.
Other Areas of Employment
Scholarships and their interaction with payments
- SEIUM scholarships normally apply only to tuition, not to Tech/Lab Fees. Example:
- Tuition: €20,000 → 25% scholarship (–€5,000) → you pay €15,000
- Tech/Lab: €2,500 (no scholarship) → you pay the full amount.
- Academic Services: €600 (no scholarship).
- This is automatically recalculated in the Student Portal.
Non-payment policy and flexibility
- We give a 5-day grace period before charging late fees.
- If there are problems, you can request a temporary adjustment (for example, deferring a payment for health reasons).
Practical scenarios
Scenario 1: International student with a visa pending
An instalment plan is recommended until the visa is confirmed.
If the visa is denied, we refund what has been paid (minus the administrative reservation fee).
Scenario 2: Working professional sponsored by a company
Upfront payment via corporate invoicing.
The company can claim it as a training expense.
Scenario 3: Student with a partial scholarship
Reduced tuition with the scholarship, with a 12-month monthly payment plan to cover the remainder.
Compliance and auditing
- We comply with GDPR for financial data.
- Online payments comply with PCI DSS.
- We review AML/KYC for large transfers (anti-money laundering).
- We publish an annual financial report on scholarships and grants awarded, in line with transparency standards (ESG).
