How you'll learn
Fully 100 % online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine the programme with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is PLECS, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, Ansys Maxwell, in free, academic or evaluation versions. The tests are studied using real digital control procedures for a PFC totem-pole in PLECS, design of an LLC converter for an 11 kW charger, and efficiency testing of an on-board charger. Assessment is continuous per module plus the final integrative project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Specify on-board chargers according to power, grid and battery.
Compare power factor correction topologies.
Design the digital control of single-phase and three-phase PFC stages.
Dimension resonant and dual active bridge isolated DC/DC stages.
Apply power density enhancement techniques.

Frequently asked questions
The programme consists of 800 hours in total, spread over 6 to 8 months. That averages between 10 and 15 hours per week, compatible with a full-time job.
The programme works with PLECS, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, Ansys Maxwell. Free, academic or evaluation versions are used, and the tutor indicates the free alternative where one exists.
An own diploma from SEIUM Institute upon passing the continuous assessment and the integrative project. It is in-house training, not an official qualification from the Ministry.
Yes. Modules passed in a course or postgraduate diploma in the same area are recognised in the advanced programme. Check the recognition policy when you enrol.
