Off-Road Vibration Diagnostics Course
300-hour online course in off-road vibration diagnostics. 6 modules covering ISO 2631-1 (human exposure to whole-body vibration), ISO 20816-1 (measurement and evaluation of machine vibration) and Simcenter Testlab. Dedicated tutor and open enrolment.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Interpret vibration as a symptom of the vehicle's mechanical condition.
Select sensors and configure vibration measurement.
Apply frequency and order analysis to diagnosis.
Identify common mechanical causes in transmissions, wheels and suspensions.
Correct and verify imbalances and misalignments.
Assess operator exposure to whole-body vibration.
Design a vibration monitoring plan for a fleet.

How you'll learn
100 % online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine study with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Simcenter Testlab, HBM nCode GlyphWorks, MATLAB, Python (SciPy), in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real measurement procedures with accelerometers on an off-road course, spectral analysis of transmission orders, and verification after balancing and correction. Assessment is continuous across modules, plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.

Frequently asked questions
The programme totals 300 hours spread over 3 to 5 months. That is an average of 10 to 15 hours per week, compatible with a full-time job.
The course uses Simcenter Testlab, HBM nCode GlyphWorks, MATLAB and Python (SciPy). Free, academic or evaluation versions are used, and the tutor indicates the free alternative where one exists.
A SEIUM Institute diploma upon passing the continuous assessment and the integrating project. It is in-house training, not an official Ministry qualification.
Yes. Modules passed in a course or Postgraduate Diploma in the same area are credited towards the higher programme. Check the credit transfer policy when you enrol.
