How you'll learn
Delivered 100 % online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which allows the course to be combined with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The software used is Automation Studio (Famic), MATLAB/Simulink (Simscape Fluids), CODESYS, TIA Portal, SISTEMA (IFA), in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real hydraulic test bench procedures with proportional valves, commissioning of control loops and validation of safety functions. Assessment is continuous, module by module, plus the final integrative project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Describe the architecture of an automated hydraulic system.
Select proportional valves and servo-valves.
Integrate pressure, position and flow sensors.
Programme control loops in PLCs.
Evaluate safety functions in accordance with ISO 13849-1.
