Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so you can combine it with your job.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Qt Design Studio, Crank Storyboard, Altia Design, LVGL and Figma, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Testing is studied through real procedures for prototyping instrumentation interfaces, sunlight readability testing and integrating clusters with the CAN bus. Assessment is continuous per module plus the final project.

Standards covered: UN/ECE Regulation No. 60, ISO 6727, ISO 15008, ISO 15005, ISO 16750, UN/ECE Regulation No. 10, Directive 2014/53/EU.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of UN/ECE Regulation No. 60, ISO 6727 and ISO 15008 applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:Qt Design Studio, Crank Storyboard, Altia Design, LVGL and Figma, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Final project:a complete TFT instrument cluster design for a defined motorcycle, from display selection to CAN integration and validation plan, reviewed by your tutor.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
Capstone project

Build it end to end

Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.

Define motorcycle and user
Set the motorcycle, the rider profile and the information the cluster must deliver.
Select display and hardware
Choose the TFT panel, graphics microcontroller and backlighting for sunlight readability.
Design the interface
Prototype screens by riding mode, with day/night themes and standardised tell-tales.
Integrate CAN and controls
Connect the cluster to vehicle data and handlebar controls and plan environmental validation.
Final project
Present the complete cluster design with regulatory analysis, cost estimate and report.
