Safe and Legal HV Conversions for Classic Cars Course
Online course of 300 h in safe and legal HV conversions for classic cars. 6 modules covering UNECE Regulation No. 100 (electrical safety of electric vehicles), ISO 6469-1 (rechargeable energy storage systems) and MATLAB/Simulink. Assigned tutor and open enrolment.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this programme. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Identify the high-voltage risks in a converted vehicle.
Design an electrical architecture with insulation, protection and safe disconnection.
Select and integrate a traction battery with its management system.
Apply safe working procedures in accordance with EN 50110-1 and RD 614/2001.
Specify the charging system and connectors in accordance with IEC standards.
Plan electrical safety tests before commissioning.
Prepare the documentation needed to legalise the conversion.

How you'll learn
100 % online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetable: students progress at their own pace within the intake, making it possible to combine with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is MATLAB/Simulink, Orion BMS Utility, Fluke Connect, advanced Excel (battery sizing), in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real high-voltage insulation measurement procedures, supervised BMS commissioning and workshop electrical isolation protocols. Assessment is continuous per module plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.

Frequently asked questions
The programme totals 300 hours spread over 3 to 5 months. That is between 10 and 15 hours per week on average, compatible with full-time work.
The programme uses MATLAB/Simulink, Orion BMS Utility, Fluke Connect and advanced Excel (battery sizing). Free, academic or evaluation versions are used, and the tutor indicates the open-source alternative where one exists.
An own SEIUM diploma upon passing the continuous assessment and the integrating project. It is in-house training, not an official qualification from the Ministry.
Yes. Modules passed in a Course or Postgraduate Diploma in the same area are recognised in the higher-level programme. Check the recognition policy when you enrol.
