How you'll learn
Delivered 100% online through the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake period, making it possible to combine study with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The software used is Bentley SACS, DNV Sesam, Ansys AQWA, OrcaFlex, USFOS, in free, academic or evaluation versions. The practicals cover real procedures: calculating wave loads on a fixed structure, analysing the motions of a floating unit and planning an offshore installation campaign. Assessment is continuous, module by module, plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Distinguish the types of fixed and floating offshore structures and their fields of application.
Calculate wave, wind and current loads on marine structures.
Analyse fixed structures under extreme and fatigue loads.
Determine the hydrodynamic response of floating platforms.
Apply ISO 19900 and its related standards to structural design.

Frequently asked questions
The programme totals 300 hours, spread over 3 to 5 months. That is an average of 10 to 15 hours per week, compatible with a full-time job.
The programme works with Bentley SACS, DNV Sesam, Ansys AQWA, OrcaFlex and USFOS. Free, academic or evaluation versions are used, and the tutor indicates the free alternative where one exists.
An own diploma from SEIUM upon passing the continuous assessment and the integrating project. This is in-house training, not an official title issued by the Ministry.
Yes. Modules passed in a course or postgraduate diploma in the same area are recognised in the advanced programme. Check the recognition policy when you enrol.
