Master’s in Global NCAP Strategy and Star Rating Design Engineering
Online master's programme of 1,900 hours in global NCAP strategy and design-for-stars engineering. 12 modules covering vehicle safety strategy, crash body architecture, restraint systems, pedestrian and child protection, ADAS, simulation, development testing, design trade-offs, post-crash safety and star programme management, with an assigned technical tutor.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Define safety strategies by market.
Design body structures for crashworthiness.
Optimise occupant restraint systems.
Integrate pedestrian protection into front-end design.
Develop and validate ADAS systems.
Manage design trade-offs using objective criteria.
Lead NCAP star programmes.
Who it's for

How you'll learn
100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so the programme fits around your job.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is LS-DYNA, ANSA, MADYMO, IPG CarMaker and Altair HyperWorks, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Testing is studied through real procedures for restraint system sled tests, ADAS track tests and full-vehicle crash simulations. Assessment is continuous, module by module, plus the final Master's Thesis.
Standards covered: Euro NCAP assessment protocols, UN Regulation No. 94, UN Regulation No. 129, UN Regulation No. 127, ISO 17840, UN Regulation No. 152, Regulation (EU) 2019/2144, UN Regulation No. 137.
