Course in Silicone Moulds for Interior Components
Online 300-hour course in silicone moulds for interior components. 6 modules covering ISO 868 (Shore hardness by durometer), ISO 3795 (combustion of vehicle interior materials) and Fusion 360. Dedicated tutor and open enrolment.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this programme. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Explain the applications of silicone moulds in reproducing interior components.
Prepare the original or reconstructed pattern for moulding.
Make single- or multi-part moulds using suitable silicones.
Cast resins and polyurethanes, controlling mixing, degassing and curing.
Reproduce textures, colours and finishes typical of period car interiors.
Apply chemical safety measures and waste management.
Reproduce a complete interior component together with its documentation.

How you'll learn
100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and a dedicated technical tutor. No fixed timetable: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine the course with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Fusion 360, Blender, advanced Excel, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real manufacturing procedures for a two-part silicone mould, polyurethane casting with degassing, and reproduction of dashboard and handle textures. Assessment is continuous, module by module, plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
