Advanced Nuclear Data Visualisation Course
Online 300 h course in advanced nuclear data visualisation. 6 modules covering NUREG-0700 (human-system interface guidelines), IEC 60964 (control room design for nuclear power plants) and ParaView. Dedicated tutor and open enrolment.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Apply principles of visual perception to complex technical data.
Visualise three-dimensional simulation fields with ParaView and VisIt.
Represent evaluated nuclear data and cross sections.
Design dashboards for monitoring plant parameters.
Apply control room ergonomics criteria to interfaces.
Communicate uncertainties visually.
Develop a visualisation project with open nuclear data.

How you'll learn
Fully 100 % online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it compatible with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is ParaView, VisIt, Python (Matplotlib, Plotly), Power BI, JANIS (NEA), in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real procedures for visualising neutronic simulation results, plant data dashboards and interface usability assessment. Assessment is continuous, module by module, plus the final integrative project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Apply principles of visual perception to complex technical data.
Visualise three-dimensional simulation fields with ParaView and VisIt.
Represent evaluated nuclear data and cross sections.
Design dashboards for monitoring plant parameters.
Apply control room ergonomics criteria to interfaces.

Frequently asked questions
The programme is 300 hours in total, spread over 3 to 5 months. That is an average of 10 to 15 hours a week, compatible with a full-time job.
You work with ParaView, VisIt, Python (Matplotlib, Plotly), Power BI, JANIS (NEA). Free, academic or evaluation versions are used, and the tutor indicates the free alternative where one exists.
An SEIUM own diploma upon passing the continuous assessment and the integrative project. It is in-house training, not an official Ministry qualification.
Yes. Modules passed in a course or postgraduate diploma in the same area are recognised towards the advanced programme. Check the recognition policy when you enrol.
