How you'll learn
Fully 100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetable: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine study with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Hazard log (IBM DOORS), Isograph FaultTree+, advanced Excel, Enterprise Architect, Python (pandas), in free, academic or evaluation versions. Practicals are based on real procedures from hazard identification workshops, independent safety assessment audits and hazard log preparation. Assessment is continuous per module plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Classify changes in railway systems according to their significance.
Identify hazards using systematic techniques.
Estimate and evaluate risks using the acceptance principles of the CSM.
Apply the common safety method to a technical or operational change.
Integrate RAMS and functional safety requirements into the lifecycle.
