How you'll learn
100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and a dedicated technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine the programme with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Microsoft Excel, Python (pandas, NumPy), PVsyst, Pexapark, Aurora Energy Research (AURES), in free, academic or evaluation versions. Case studies are based on real settlement procedures for a virtual PPA using market data, valuation of a solar PPA with price scenarios, and design of a shape hedge for a wind PPA. Assessment is continuous, module by module, plus the final integrative project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Distinguish the main types of physical and virtual PPAs.
Understand the financial mechanics of settling a virtual PPA.
Value PPA contracts considering shape, volume and cannibalisation.
Design complementary hedges for residual risks.
Analyse contractual clauses and accounting treatment.
