How you'll learn
Fully 100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine study with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Cat MineStar, Modular Mining DISPATCH, Grafana, Power BI, Python (pandas), in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real procedures from mine network deployment pilots, analysis of loading and haulage cycle data, and fleet availability and utilisation audits. Assessment is continuous, per module, plus the final integrative project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Describe the architecture of a telemetry system for mining machinery.
Select the appropriate onboard equipment for trucks, shovels and drills.
Design the mine communications network considering coverage and robustness.
Integrate data from different manufacturers using interoperability standards.
Calculate productivity, availability and utilisation indicators from the data.

Frequently asked questions
The programme is 300 hours in total, spread over 3 to 5 months. That is between 10 and 15 hours per week on average, compatible with a full-time job.
You work with Cat MineStar, Modular Mining DISPATCH, Grafana, Power BI, Python (pandas). Free, academic or evaluation versions are used, and the tutor indicates the open-source alternative where one exists.
A SEIUM Institute diploma upon passing the continuous assessment and the integrative project. This is in-house training, not an official Ministry qualification.
Yes. Modules passed in a Course or Postgraduate Diploma in the same area are recognised towards the higher-level programme. Check the recognition policy when you enrol.
