How you'll learn
A 100% online programme on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine study with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, CAPE, OMICRON Test Universe, SKM PowerTools, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real procedures from protection coordination studies, relay testing with injection test sets and analysis of oscillography records. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Understand the protection philosophy of electrical systems.
Interpret and adjust time-current curves.
Coordinate overcurrent protection in radial and meshed networks.
Adjust distance and differential protection.
Use specialised software for coordination studies.

Frequently asked questions
The programme comprises 800 hours in total, spread over 6 to 8 months. That averages between 10 and 15 hours per week, compatible with a full-time job.
The work is carried out with ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, CAPE, OMICRON Test Universe and SKM PowerTools. Free, academic or evaluation versions are used, and the tutor indicates the free alternative where one exists.
An SEIUM diploma upon passing the continuous assessment and the integrating project. It is in-house training, not an official qualification from the Ministry.
Yes. Modules passed in a Course or Postgraduate Diploma in the same area are recognised in the higher programme. Check the recognition policy when you enrol.
