Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

The programme is delivered 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so it fits around your job.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Mender, SWUpdate, Uptane/TUF, TensorFlow Lite and OpenSSL, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Practical work is based on real procedures: signed OTA updates on embedded devices, secure boot testing and adversarial robustness evaluations. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final project.

Standards covered: UN ECE Regulation No. 156; UN ECE Regulation No. 155; ISO 24089; ISO/SAE 21434; IEC 62443-4-2; ETSI EN 303 645; Regulation (EU) 2024/2847.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of UN R156, UN R155 and ISO 24089 applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:Mender, SWUpdate, Uptane/TUF, TensorFlow Lite and OpenSSL, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Final project:an edge security project for a real system, from threat model and root of trust to OTA design, model protection, adversarial evaluation and compliance plan, reviewed by your tutor.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
Capstone project

Build it end to end

Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.

Architecture and threat model

Root of trust and OTA design
Define the root of trust and design the signed OTA update chain.
Model protection
Protect the AI model against extraction and tampering.
Adversarial evaluation and compliance
Evaluate adversarial robustness and draw up the compliance plan.
Final project
