Postgraduate Diploma in Energy Retrofit (scrubbers, EEXI kits)
Online 800-hour Postgraduate Diploma in Energy Retrofit (scrubbers, EEXI kits). 8 modules covering MARPOL Annex VI (prevention of air pollution from ships), Resolution MEPC.340(77) (guidelines for exhaust gas cleaning systems) and NAPA. Assigned tutor and open enrolment.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Analyse the environmental regulations that drive energy retrofits.
Compare open-loop, closed-loop and hybrid scrubber technologies.
Size a power limitation system to comply with EEXI.
Evaluate energy-saving devices and their effect on consumption.
Develop the on-board integration engineering.
Plan the execution and commissioning during dry dock.
Verify retrofit results with operational data.

How you'll learn
A 100% online programme on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it easy to combine with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is NAPA, AutoCAD Plant 3D, ANSYS Fluent, Rhino 3D, advanced Excel, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Case studies are based on real procedures: 3D laser scanning surveys in the engine room, scrubber commissioning tests and power verification during sea trials. Assessment is continuous, module by module, plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
