Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, making it compatible with work.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is EUROCONTROL NEST, SIMIO, AirTOp, Tableau and Python with pandas, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Real procedures are studied, such as capacity analysis of a control sector, operational risk assessment at an aerodrome and occurrence investigation with flight data. Assessment is continuous per module, plus the final Master's Thesis.

Standards covered: ICAO Annex 19, ICAO Annex 11, ICAO Annex 14, Regulation (EU) 2017/373, Regulation (EU) 139/2014, Regulation (EU) 965/2012, ICAO Doc 4444 PANS-ATM, Regulation (EU) 376/2014.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of ICAO Annex 19, Annex 11, Annex 14 and the EU aviation regulations applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:EUROCONTROL NEST, SIMIO, AirTOp, Tableau and Python with pandas, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Master's Thesis with defence:an operational improvement project with data, simulation and risk assessment, defended before a panel.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.

Turnaround simulation
Model and optimise an aircraft turnaround in SIMIO.
Aerodrome compliance audit
Audit an aerodrome against Annex 14 and Regulation (EU) 139/2014.
Runway incursion bow-tie
Build a bow-tie risk analysis for a runway incursion scenario.
Master's Thesis
