HSE Safety Course in Offshore Operations
Online 300-hour course in HSE safety in offshore operations. 6 modules covering Directive 2013/30/EU on the safety of offshore oil and gas operations, ISO 45001 Occupational health and safety management systems and BowTieXP. Assigned tutor and open enrolment.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Implement HSE management systems compliant with European offshore regulations.
Identify hazards and assess major risks using HAZID, HAZOP and bow-tie.
Apply the principles of process safety and well control.
Manage work permits and high-risk operations.
Plan the response to emergencies and spills.
Investigate incidents using root cause analysis.
Develop a comprehensive HSE plan for an offshore installation.

How you'll learn
100 % online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, allowing it to be combined with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is BowTieXP, DNV Phast, Gexcon FLACS, Enablon, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Practical work is based on real procedures: bow-tie analysis of a major hazard scenario, emergency drill on an offshore installation, root cause investigation of an incident. Assessment is continuous per module plus the final integrative project.
