Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

The course is delivered 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so it fits around your job.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Fluke Connect, PicoScope 7 Automotive, KiCad and Microsoft Excel, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Testing is studied through real procedures: diagnosing the charging system, measuring sensors and actuators, and locating short circuits and open circuits. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final project.

Standards covered: IEC 61010-1, IEC 61010-2-033, ISO 16750-2, ISO 6722, ISO 8820, UNECE Regulation No. 53.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of IEC 61010-1, IEC 61010-2-033 and ISO 16750-2 applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:Fluke Connect, PicoScope 7 Automotive, KiCad and Microsoft Excel, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Final project:a full diagnosis of a real electrical fault, from wiring diagram review and measurement plan to a justified repair and diagnostic report, reviewed by your tutor.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
Capstone project

Build it end to end

Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.

Fault selection and diagram review
Select a real electrical fault and review the relevant wiring diagram.
Measurement plan
Prepare a structured measurement plan that divides the circuit into sections.
Execution and analysis
Carry out and record the measurements and analyse the results.
Repair and verification
Propose a justified repair and verify the repaired circuit.
Final project
Deliver the diagnostic report and presentation for review by your tutor.
