How you'll learn
100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and a dedicated technical tutor. No fixed timetable: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine study with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is JMatPro, Thermo-Calc, advanced Excel, MATLAB, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real procedures for Rockwell and Vickers hardness testing, metallography of treated components and furnace thermal recording. Assessment is continuous, per module, plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Explain the metallurgical purpose of heat treatments in mechanical components.
Select quenching, tempering, annealing and carburising treatments for steels.
Apply suitable treatments to cast irons and light alloys.
Control furnaces, atmospheres and quenching media.
Verify results through hardness testing and metallography.
