Course in Active Filters and Harmonic Mitigation
The Course in Active Filters and Harmonic Mitigation provides comprehensive training in the design, implementation and analysis of active filters and advanced techniques for harmonic mitigation in electrical power systems. The course explores the fundamentals of harmonics, their impact and the applicable regulations. It focuses on active power filters (APF), from modelling and simulation through to commissioning and maintenance. It covers the main APF topologies, the most efficient control algorithms and practical industrial applications, such as power quality improvement and reduction of energy losses.
Participants will gain knowledge of power quality regulations, IEC and IEEE standards and strategies for optimising the performance of electrical systems. The use of specialist software for the simulation and analysis of active filters is encouraged throughout. The course prepares professionals for roles as electrical engineers, power quality specialists and maintenance technicians, enabling them to improve energy efficiency and reduce the costs associated with harmonics.
Target keywords (used naturally in the text): active filters, harmonic mitigation, power quality, harmonics, active power filters, APF, electrical engineering, harmonic distortion, IEC standards.
