Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

A 100% online programme on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so you can combine it with your job.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is IBM Maximo, Primavera P6, SCADE Suite and Siemens Teamcenter, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Exercises are based on real procedures: an ageing management assessment of a component, a plan to replace analogue I&C with digital and a periodic safety review. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final project.

Standards covered: IAEA SSG-48, IAEA SSG-25, 10 CFR Part 54, NUREG-1801, IEC 61513, IEC 60880, IEEE 603, NRC DI&C-ISG-06.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of IAEA SSG-48, IAEA SSG-25, 10 CFR Part 54 and IEC 61513 applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:IBM Maximo, Primavera P6, SCADE Suite and Siemens Teamcenter, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Final project:a modernisation programme for a nuclear power plant, from condition diagnosis and ageing management to the regulatory, implementation and economic analysis, reviewed by your tutor.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
Capstone project

Build it end to end

Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.

Plant diagnosis
Describe the plant and diagnose its current condition.
Ageing management programme
Define the ageing management programme following IAEA SSG-48 and the GALL report.
Modernisation proposal
Propose the I&C, equipment and safety upgrades the plant needs.
Regulatory and economic analysis
Analyse the licensing implications and the economics of the modernisation, with its implementation plan.
Final project
Present the conclusions and report for final review with your tutor.
