Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

Training is 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so the programme can be combined with work.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD, Genetec Security Center and Milestone XProtect, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Practical work is based on real procedures: vulnerability assessment of a temporary base, design of an entry control point and selection of certified perimeter barriers. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final project.

Standards covered: AJP-3.14, UFC 4-010-01, UFC 4-022-01, ASTM F2656, ISO 22343, EN 50131, ISO 31000.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of AJP-3.14, UFC 4-010-01 and UFC 4-022-01 applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD, Genetec Security Center and Milestone XProtect, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Final project:a complete protection project for a military installation, from threat assessment to perimeter, access control and estimated budget, reviewed by your tutor.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
Capstone project

Build it end to end

Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.

Threat and vulnerability assessment
Describe the installation and assess the threats and vulnerabilities of the site.
Perimeter design
Design the perimeter with stand-off distances and certified barriers.
Access control system
Design the entry control point and the access control system.
Electronic systems and protection plan
Integrate electronic security systems and draft the base protection plan with an estimated budget.
Final project
Present the complete base protection project, reviewed by your tutor.
