Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within the intake, so the programme fits around your job.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is CST Studio Suite, ANSYS HFSS, Altair FEKO, COMSOL Multiphysics and Keysight PathWave, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Exercises are based on real procedures: reflectivity measurement using the NRL arch method, dielectric characterisation of a composite and radar cross section simulation of canonical geometries. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final project.

Standards covered: IEEE 1128, IEEE 1502, ASTM D5568, MIL-STD-461G, Regulation, ITAR.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of IEEE 1128, IEEE 1502 and ASTM D5568 applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:CST Studio Suite, ANSYS HFSS, Altair FEKO, COMSOL Multiphysics and Keysight PathWave, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Final project:an absorbing materials project, from requirements and material selection to electromagnetic design, simulation, characterisation and durability assessment, reviewed by your tutor.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
