How you'll learn

The course is taught 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so you can combine it with your job.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original regulations and applied exercises. The working software is Microsoft Excel, Bloomberg Terminal, Clarksons Shipping Intelligence Network and @RISK, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Exercises are based on real procedures: building a financial model of a ship, structuring the financing of a newbuilding and assessing the climate alignment of a portfolio. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final project.

Standards covered: Poseidon Principles, Regulation (EU) 2020/852, OECD Sector Understanding on Export Credits for Ships, Spanish Law 14/2014 on Maritime Navigation, Spanish Law 27/2014 on Corporate Income Tax, Regulation (EU) 651/2014, BIMCO NEWBUILDCON form.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of the Poseidon Principles, Regulation (EU) 2020/852 and the OECD Sector Understanding on Export Credits for Ships applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:Microsoft Excel, Bloomberg Terminal, Clarksons Shipping Intelligence Network and @RISK, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Final project:a complete financing proposal for a ship project, from market analysis and financial model to financing structure, security, risks and ESG criteria, reviewed by your tutor.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
