How you'll learn
100 % online training on the SEIUM Institute campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, making it possible to combine the programme with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is CxAlloy, SkySpark, Niagara Framework, Onset HOBOware, EnergyPlus, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real functional test procedures for a chiller and its control, retro-commissioning of an office building, and drafting of a commissioning plan. Assessment is continuous, module by module, plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Understand the commissioning process from design through to operation.
Write the owner's project requirements and the commissioning plan.
Review the design of HVAC systems and their control sequences.
Carry out functional testing of equipment and integrated systems.
Apply retro-commissioning techniques in existing buildings.
