How you'll learn
100 % online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, making it easier to combine with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Oxygen XML Editor, Atlassian Confluence, Siemens Polarion ALM, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real procedures for reviewing a user manual against ISO/IEC/IEEE 82079-1, preparing a file for a notified body, and auditing controlled documentation. Assessment is continuous per module, plus the final integrative project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Apply the requirements of ISO/IEC/IEEE 82079-1 to documentation.
Write clear, modular and task-oriented technical information.
Use structured authoring and publishing tools.
Identify the documentation requirements of certification schemes.
Compare certification approaches across regulated sectors.
