How you'll learn
Training 100 % online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetable: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which allows it to be combined with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is OMICRON Test Universe, OMICRON StationScout, Wireshark, SEL AcSELerator QuickSet, OMICRON IEDScout, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Studies are carried out on real procedures for verifying time accuracy with grandmaster clocks, protection differential tests with Sampled Values, and PRP/HSR redundancy tests. Assessment is continuous per module plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Describe the architecture of numerical protection relays.
Set distance, differential and overcurrent functions.
Explain the fundamentals of time synchronisation in substations.
Configure PTP networks according to power profiles.
Apply synchrophasors and Sampled Values in protection schemes.
