How you'll learn
100% online training on the SEIUM Institute campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetable: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine study with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Ansys Fluent, LS-DYNA, Rhinoceros 3D, Simcenter STAR-CCM+, HEAD acoustics ArtemiS SUITE, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real procedures for measuring neck load and noise in a wind tunnel, linear and oblique helmet impact tests, and measurement of ventilation flow with a head mannequin. Assessment is continuous by module plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Understand the structure and protective function of the helmet.
Analyse the aerodynamic forces on the helmet and their effect on the neck.
Design effective and comfortable ventilation systems.
Reduce the aerodynamic noise perceived by the rider.
Apply flow and impact simulation to helmet design.
