How you'll learn
Fully 100% online training on the SEIUM Institute campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and a dedicated technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine the programme with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is DNV Sesam, OrcaFlex, ANSYS AQWA, OpenFAST, AVEVA PI System, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Case studies are based on real procedures for risk-based inspection of the hull, analysis of the motions and stability of floating units, and structural monitoring with a digital twin. Assessment is continuous, module by module, plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Compare the typologies of floating units FPSO and FOW.
Assess hull integrity against fatigue and corrosion.
Manage the integrity of the mooring system.
Analyse the stability and motions of the floating unit.
Plan inspections using risk-based criteria.
