Postgraduate Diploma in Extreme Anti-Corrosion and Bodywork Sealing
Online 800-hour Postgraduate Diploma in Extreme Anti-Corrosion and Bodywork Sealing. 8 modules covering ISO 12944 (corrosion protection of steel structures by protective paint systems), ISO 8501-1 (preparation grades of steel substrates) and advanced Excel. Assigned tutor and open enrolment.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Explain the corrosion mechanisms affecting steel bodywork.
Select the appropriate surface preparation method for each component.
Specify protection systems according to the corrosivity of the environment.
Apply sealants to joints, overlaps and bodywork connections.
Protect cavities and underbodies with waxes and specific coatings.
Repair corrosion-damaged areas while restoring protection.
Verify the quality of protection through standardised testing.

How you'll learn
100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, making it easy to combine with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is advanced Excel, ElcoMaster (Elcometer), Minitab, SolidWorks, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Testing is studied using real procedures for salt spray chambers, film thickness measurement and endoscopic cavity inspection. Assessment is continuous across modules, plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
