How you'll learn
100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it compatible with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Transas Navi-Trainer, OpenCPN, Wireshark, Kongsberg K-Sim, MATLAB, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Assessments are based on real procedures: collision avoidance exercises in simulator, route planning and monitoring in ECDIS, and bridge sensor integration tests. Assessment is continuous across modules plus the final integrative project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Design integrated bridges in compliance with SOLAS Chapter V.
Integrate navigation sensors and evaluate their errors.
Operate and configure radar with ARPA.
Use ECDIS for route planning and monitoring.
Integrate communications, AIS and IEC 61162 networks.
