Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable materials, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so the programme is compatible with work.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Guidewire, Power BI, Python, Moody's RMS and advanced Excel with VBA, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Exercises are based on real procedures: underwriting a large industrial risk programme, profitability analysis by line of business, and design of a multi-class reinsurance programme. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final Master's Thesis.

Standards covered: Law 50/1980 on Insurance Contracts, Law 20/2015 (LOSSEAR), Directive 2009/138/EC (Solvency II), Royal Legislative Decree 7/2004 (Statute of the Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros), Law 87/1978 on Combined Agricultural Insurance, Law 14/2014 on Maritime Navigation, Incoterms 2020 and Law 26/2007 on Environmental Liability.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of the Insurance Contract Act, LOSSEAR, Solvency II and Incoterms 2020 applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:Guidewire, Power BI, Python, Moody's RMS and advanced Excel with VBA, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Master's Thesis with defence:a complete business plan for a line of business, with covers, rating model, reinsurance strategy and capital analysis, defended before a panel.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
