Initial Diagnosis of a Restoration Project Course

The Amateur Competition Scooter Preparation Course explores the adaptation and optimisation of scooters for racing, focusing on engine modification, improved suspension and high-performance brakes. The course covers tuning techniques and set-up, including carburation and basic electronics, to maximise power and handling. Concepts of vehicle dynamics and track safety are taught, preparing participants to compete in amateur events.

Students will gain hands-on experience in the repair and maintenance of scooters, using tools and techniques specific to competition. The programme includes knowledge of high-performance parts, as well as handling tyres and wheels suitable for racing. The training provides knowledge to configure the suspension and brakes, preparing participants to improve performance and safety on the track, with a focus on optimisation.

Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetable: students progress at their own pace within the intake, making it possible to combine with work.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Advanced Excel (budgets and decision matrices), Adobe Lightroom (photographic record), Microsoft Project, Notion (project file), in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real initial inspection procedures on a lift, sheet metal and paint thickness measurement, and engine compression and leak testing. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final integrating project.

Accreditable laboratories(EN ISO/IEC 17025) with rotor test rig, EMC/Lightning pre-compliance, HIL/SIL, vibration/acoustics.
Evidence-oriented final project:safety case, test plan, compliance dossier and operational limits.
Industry mentoring:lecturers with a track record in training, , eVTOL/UAM and flight test.
Flexible format(hybrid/online), international cohorts and support from SEIUM Career Services.
Ethics and safety:a safety-by-design approach, with cyber-OT, DIH and compliance as its pillars.
