Hydraulic Systems Simulation Course
Online 300-hour course in hydraulic systems simulation. 6 modules covering ISO 1219-1 (graphic symbols for hydraulic fluid power), ISO 4413 (hydraulic fluid power. Safety) and Simcenter Amesim. Assigned tutor and open enrolment.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this programme. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Explain the fundamentals of modelling lumped-parameter hydraulic circuits.
Model pumps, valves, cylinders and accumulators including their non-linearities.
Simulate the dynamic response of a circuit together with its control system.
Validate a hydraulic model against test data.
Apply simulation to the design, sizing and diagnosis of circuits.
Exchange models between tools using co-simulation standards.
Develop a complete model of a machine's hydraulic circuit.

How you'll learn
100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine study with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Simcenter Amesim, MATLAB/Simulink (Simscape Fluids), Hopsan, Dymola (Modelica), Automation Studio, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real procedures for correlating models with a hydraulic test rig, simulation of pressure transients, and hardware-in-the-loop tests. Assessment is continuous per module plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.

Frequently asked questions
The programme totals 300 hours, spread over 3 to 5 months. That is between 10 and 15 hours per week on average, compatible with a full-time job.
The course works with Simcenter Amesim, MATLAB/Simulink (Simscape Fluids), Hopsan, Dymola (Modelica), Automation Studio. Free, academic or evaluation versions are used, and the tutor indicates the free alternative where one exists.
A SEIUM own diploma upon passing the continuous assessment and the integrating project. It is in-house training, not an official qualification from the Ministry.
Yes. Modules passed in a course or postgraduate diploma in the same area are recognised in the advanced programme. Check the recognition policy when you enrol.
