Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

The programme is delivered 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so it fits around your job.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. You work with MATLAB/Simulink, IPG CarMaker, CARLA, esmini and Plexe, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Testing is studied through real procedures: track lane change tests with targets, truck platoon simulation, and validation of minimal risk manoeuvres. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final project.

Standards covered: UNECE R157, ISO 23793-1, ISO 21202, ISO 15622:2018, ISO 26262:2018, ISO 21448:2022, UNECE R79, ISO 34502:2022.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of UNECE R157, ISO 23793-1 and ISO 21202 applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:MATLAB/Simulink, IPG CarMaker, CARLA, esmini and Plexe, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Final project:The complete design of a Level 3 highway pilot, from redundant architecture and lane change strategy to validation and R157 compliance, reviewed by your tutor.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
