Fire Safety Standards for Armoured Vehicles Course
Online course of 300 h in fire safety standards for armoured vehicles. 6 modules covering UNECE Regulation No. 107 (includes engine compartment extinguishing systems), ISO 3795 (flammability of interior materials) and FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator). Assigned tutor and open enrolment.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this programme. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Analyse the fire risk in an enclosed vehicle.
Interpret the applicable regulatory and testing framework.
Apply prevention criteria in design and in material selection.
Size detection and suppression systems.
Plan evacuation and crew training.
Simulate the evolution of fire and smoke in the cabin.
Prepare a vehicle fire safety plan.

How you'll learn
100 % online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine the course with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator), PyroSim, Pathfinder, ANSYS Fluent, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied using real procedures for material flammability testing, smoke propagation simulation and discharge tests of suppression systems. Assessment is continuous per module plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Analyse the fire risk in an enclosed vehicle.
Interpret the applicable regulatory and testing framework.
Apply prevention criteria in design and in material selection.
Size detection and suppression systems.
Plan evacuation and crew training.

Frequently asked questions
The programme totals 300 hours spread over 3 to 5 months. That is between 10 and 15 hours per week on average, compatible with a full-time job.
You work with FDS (Fire Dynamics Simulator), PyroSim, Pathfinder and ANSYS Fluent. Free, academic or evaluation versions are used, and the tutor indicates the free alternative where one exists.
SEIUM's own diploma upon passing the continuous assessment and the integrating project. It is in-house training, not an official qualification from the Ministry.
Yes. Modules passed in a course or postgraduate diploma in the same area are recognised towards the higher programme. Check the recognition policy when you enrol.
