Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

A 100% online programme on the SEIUM Institute campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so you can combine it with your job.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original regulation and applied exercises. You work with InterUSS Platform, QGIS, BlueSky ATM Simulator, Python and PostGIS, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied on real procedures: simulation of strategic deconfliction of flight plans, architecture design for a U-space service provider, and publication of UAS geographical zones. Assessment is continuous by module plus the final project.

Standards covered: Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/664, Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947, Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945, ASTM F3548-21, ASTM F3411-22a, EUROCAE ED-269, EUROCAE ED-318, Royal Decree 517/2024 (Spain).

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/664, Implementing Regulation (EU) 2019/947 and Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945 applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:InterUSS Platform, QGIS, BlueSky ATM Simulator, Python and PostGIS, in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Final project:a U-space service project for a defined airspace, from demand analysis to the USSP certification route, reviewed by your tutor.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
Capstone project

Build it end to end

Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.

Flight authorisation flow
Model the end-to-end authorisation flow for a flight in U-space.
DSS deployment
Deploy a discovery and synchronisation service with InterUSS.
Strategic deconfliction
Deconflict overlapping flight plans using 4D volumes and priority rules.
Geo-awareness and conformance
Publish geographical zones and simulate conformance alerts.
Final project
Design a complete U-space service for a defined airspace, with contingency plan and certification route, reviewed by your tutor.
