How you'll learn
100% online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine the course with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is SimaPro, openLCA, Sphera GaBi, MATLAB, Ansys Mechanical, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Practical work draws on real procedures for life cycle assessment of systems, climate resilience studies of infrastructure and life cycle cost assessments. Assessment is continuous, module by module, plus the final integrative project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Understand the relationship between resilience and sustainability in defence systems.
Apply resilient design principles to complex systems.
Evaluate lower-impact energy and propulsion alternatives.
Carry out life cycle assessments in accordance with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044.
Integrate circularity and eco-design criteria into product development.
