How you'll learn
100 % online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and assigned technical tutor. No fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it compatible with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape, QGIS, DJI Terra, R, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Tests are studied on real procedures for wildlife censuses with drones, photogrammetry of natural areas and wildlife disturbance assessments. Assessment is continuous per module plus the final integrative project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Describe the applications of drones in environmental reconnaissance.
Assess wildlife disturbance and establish minimum-impact protocols.
Apply UAS and protected area regulations.
Protect the privacy of communities in overflown areas.
Analyse the dual use of reconnaissance technologies.

Frequently asked questions
The programme comprises 300 total hours spread over 3 to 5 months. That is between 10 and 15 hours per week on average, compatible with a full-time job.
Work is done with Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape, QGIS, DJI Terra, R. Free, academic or evaluation versions are used, and the tutor indicates the free alternative where one exists.
A SEIUM own diploma upon passing the continuous assessment and the integrative project. It is in-house training, not an official Ministry qualification.
Yes. Modules passed in a course or postgraduate diploma in the same area are recognised towards the advanced programme. Check the recognition policy when you enrol.
