How you'll learn
Training is 100 % online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine the course with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, Databricks, Python, Microsoft Power BI, in free, academic or evaluation versions. The practicals are based on real procedures: building an AIS data pipeline, analysing a fleet's consumption and emissions, and predicting port waiting times. Assessment is continuous per module, plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
Identify the data sources and standards of the maritime sector.
Design Big Data architectures for operational data.
Process large data volumes with distributed tools.
Build fleet and port indicators and dashboards.
Develop predictive models for maritime operations.
