Objective of the Job Openings & Internships area
The primary objective of the area is to facilitate the effective professional integration of SEIUM students and graduates into industrial, corporate, and advanced research environments, both in Europe and in the Americas, Asia, and the Middle East. To achieve this, SEIUM structures a comprehensive university–industry collaboration ecosystem that enables:
SEIUM does not only train engineers, but professionals ready to integrate into complex, multilingual, and technologically demanding environments.
Partnership agreements and network of collaborating companies
SEIUM maintains cooperation agreements with an international network of more than 400 organisations, including industrial corporations, R&D laboratories, technology start-ups, certification centres, and public bodies.
Professional internship delivery modes
SEIUM internships are tailored to the diversity of programmes and academic levels, offering experiences that can be integrated into the curriculum or developed as extracurricular internships.
Curricular internships
Included within SEIUM technical master’s programmes and diplomas. The student applies knowledge in a real-world environment under joint supervision from an academic tutor and an industry mentor. Typical duration: 3 to 6 months. Delivery mode: on-site, blended, or online depending on the country and the company.
Extracurricular internships
Optional and complementary, they allow students to broaden experience in new areas or continue collaborating after completing their studies. Duration: flexible (2 to 9 months). Focused on specialisation or pilot projects.
Capstone project (TFM/TFG) in a company
Final Master’s or Bachelor’s projects can be developed in collaboration with companies or technology centres. They include confidentiality agreements (NDAs) and technology transfer arrangements, ensuring shared intellectual property and data protection.
Global Trainee Programs
International internship programmes in SEIUM hubs (Europe, AMER, MENA, APAC). They include intercultural training, logistical support (visa, residence), and academic guidance.
Cada práctica es una experiencia global de aprendizaje aplicada, diseñada para integrar la ingeniería con la realidad industrial.
SEIUM Referrals Program
Professional recommendations and direct access to leading companies
SEIUM’s Referrals Programme is a professional referral system through which professors, tutors, or alumni can recommend candidates directly to partner companies. This mechanism accelerates access to strategic roles and strengthens trust between the university and the industrial sector.
Direct recommendation by an accredited SEIUM member.
Priority in international recruitment processes.
Access to unadvertised vacancies (confidential or highly technical roles).
Improved employability profile through internal SEIUM validation.
A student from the Master’s in Advanced Aerospace Engineering can be referred by their tutor to Airbus Defence & Space’s innovation programme, or a graduate from the Master’s in Energy Engineering and Smart Networks can receive an internal recommendation for Siemens Energy or Iberdrola Tech Global.
SEIUM employment internationalisation
SEIUM employability is global. The partnership agreements and collaborations cover opportunities in more than 40 countries, including:
International students receive specialised support on visa, residence, cultural adaptation, and internship recognition through the SEIUM Global Mobility & Careers office.
