SEIUM Univesity

SEIUM Laboratories and Test Centres constitute one of the most advanced technological ecosystems in the university engineering environment.
Designed under ISO/EN 17025, EN 9100 and IEC 17020 standards, our facilities combine experimental, digital and virtual capabilities in an environment of high precision, traceability and international regulatory compliance (UNECE, EASA, ISO, SAE, MIL-STD, ITAR/EAR).

SEIUM laboratories are distributed across international hubs — Europe (Madrid), the Americas, MENA and APAC — and are integrated into the SEIUM Institutes network, providing support to master’s programmes, doctoral programmes, industrial projects and European consortia.Filosofía y misión tecnológica

Technology philosophy and mission

At SEIUM, laboratories are not only testing spaces:
they are complete validation ecosystems where physics, data and simulation converge.

 Each facility is equipped to operate under three integrated levels

This approach makes it possible to validate multimodal systems (vehicles, networks, structures, propulsion and energy) under real and simulated conditions, optimising costs, sustainability and reliability.

 
 

Dynamometer & Powertrain Testing Centre

Purpose:

Validation of electric, hybrid and internal combustion engines under real load and duty-cycle conditions.

  • Chassis, engine and e-axle dynamometers up to 1,500 Nm

  • High-speed electric motor test benches (>30,000 rpm)

  • Energy efficiency, emissions and vibration testing

  • Calorimetry and thermal management control (liquid/air)

  • High-frequency telemetry and simultaneous multi-channel data acquisition

  • Compatibility with H₂, e-fuels and biofuels

    • Performance validation of electric and internal combustion powertrains

    • Durability, NVH, efficiency and consumption testing

    • Correlation with 1D/3D simulation models

    EN 17025-accredited laboratory — SAE J1349 and ISO 15550 standards

Post Rig & Kinematics Lab

Purpose:

Simulation and analysis of vehicle vertical and lateral dynamics using high-precision servo-hydraulic actuators.

  • 7-post rig with independent actuators

  • Stiffness, vibration and suspension-response testing

  • Integration of active damping systems and traction control

  • Direct correlation with driving simulators and CFD

  • Adaptable configuration for cars, motorcycles and racing chassis

    • Dynamic set-up and comfort optimisation

    • Validation of suspension-control strategies

    • Combined structural fatigue testing

CFD / HPC Laboratory (High-Performance Computing & Computational Fluid Dynamics)

Purpose:

Aerodynamic, thermal and multiphysics modelling of complex systems in terrestrial, naval, aerospace, and energy vehicles.
