Methodology, software & labs

How you'll learn

Training is 100% online on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and an assigned technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: you progress at your own pace within each intake, so the programme can be combined with work.

Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is MATLAB Predictive Maintenance Toolbox, SKF @ptitude Analyst, IBM Maximo and Python (scikit-learn), in free, academic or evaluation versions. Practical work is based on real procedures: vibration analysis of a gearbox, an oil analysis programme for a fleet and the definition of alarm thresholds. Assessment is continuous by module, plus the final project.

Standards covered: ISO 17359, ISO 13374, ISO 13381-1, ISO 20816, ISO 18436, MIL-STD-3034A, SAE JA1011, AJP-4.

Assigned technical tutor:every module ends with a deliverable that your tutor marks individually.
Standards-based learning:guided reading of ISO 17359, ISO 13374, ISO 13381-1 and MIL-STD-3034A applied to real cases, not as a theoretical annex.
Industry software:MATLAB Predictive Maintenance Toolbox, SKF @ptitude Analyst, IBM Maximo and Python (scikit-learn), in free, academic or evaluation versions.
Final project:a complete predictive maintenance programme for a military fleet, from criticality analysis to the prognostic model and implementation plan, reviewed by your tutor.
Flexible format:100% online, no fixed timetables, compatible with full-time work.
Capstone project

Build it end to end

Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.

Monitoring plan
Define measurement routes, alarm thresholds and inspection intervals.
Prognostic model
Build a remaining useful life model from fleet data.
Final project
Present the full programme with economic analysis and implementation plan, reviewed by your tutor.
