Postgraduate Diploma in Installation and Monitoring of Mooring Systems
Online 800-hour Postgraduate Diploma in Installation and Monitoring of Mooring Systems. 8 modules covering API RP 2SK (design and analysis of station-keeping systems), DNV-OS-E301 (position mooring) and OrcaFlex. Dedicated tutor and open enrolment.
Take the controls.
Run a real engineering trade-off from this field. Move the sliders, watch the model react in real time and beat the challenge.
What you will be able to do
Classify offshore mooring systems and their applications.
Select mooring components: chain, wire rope and synthetic fibre.
Carry out quasi-static and dynamic mooring analyses in accordance with API RP 2SK.
Design anchors according to geotechnical conditions.
Plan the installation and pre-tensioning of the lines.
Design tension and position monitoring systems.
Prepare a mooring integrity management plan.

How you'll learn
100 % online training on the SEIUM campus, with downloadable material, recorded classes and a dedicated technical tutor. There are no fixed timetables: students progress at their own pace within the intake, which makes it possible to combine study with work.
Each module combines theory, guided reading of the original standard and applied exercises. The working software is OrcaFlex, DNV Sesam (SIMA), Ariane, MATLAB, AutoCAD, in free, academic or evaluation versions. Practical work is based on real procedures for dynamic analysis of mooring lines, planning of AHTS installation campaigns and ROV inspections of chains. Assessment is continuous, module by module, plus the final integrating project.
Build it end to end
Your final project follows the real engineering workflow, step by step, reviewed by your tutor.
